Who We Are and What This Covers
Evently is operated by Sargu SIA, registered in Riga, Latvia, which is the data controller for personal data processed on the platform. This policy covers both the evently.lv website and the Evently mobile app for Android and iOS. It explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Privacy questions and requests: support@evently.lv.
Information We Collect
Account data you give us: your name and email address, and — only if you choose to add them — a phone number and a profile photo. Content you create: event listings, descriptions and images, if you host. Registrations and tickets: which events you sign up for and attend. Technical data needed to run the service: device and browser information, IP address, server logs, and crash diagnostics.
Location, Camera and Photos in the Mobile App
Location: with your permission, the app uses your device's precise location to show events near you and to centre the map. It is read only while the app is open, never in the background, and you can decline or revoke it at any time in your device settings — the app stays usable without it. Camera: the app uses the camera so hosts can scan ticket QR codes at the door, and so you can photograph a profile picture or event image if you choose to. QR codes are decoded on your device and are never uploaded; a photo you take is uploaded only when you add it to your profile or an event. Photos: when you set a profile picture or add an event image, only the file you pick is uploaded — the app does not read your photo library.
Payments
Card payments are handled by Stripe. Card details are entered into Stripe's own payment form and never reach our servers — we receive only the result of the transaction, the amount, and the last four digits of the card, which we use for your receipt and order history. Stripe processes this data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. Hosts who sell tickets are paid out through Stripe and provide their details directly to Stripe for identity and tax checks.
How We Use Your Information
To create and secure your account, to publish and search events, to issue and validate tickets, to take payments and process refunds, to send you transactional messages and the event reminders you opted into, to detect fraud and abuse, and to diagnose crashes so we can fix them. We do not use your data for advertising, and the app carries no advertising or tracking SDKs and no advertising identifier.
Legal Bases for Processing
We process your data to perform our contract with you (your account, registrations, tickets and payments), on the basis of your consent (location, push notifications and any marketing messages — each of which you can withdraw), for our legitimate interests (keeping the service secure, preventing fraud, and improving it), and to meet legal obligations (accounting and tax records).
Who We Share Data With
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers. We rely on a small set of providers to run the service: Google, through Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, App Check, Remote Config and Crashlytics, for sign-in, hosting, notifications, feature configuration and crash reporting; Stripe, for payments and host payouts; and Google Maps, for map display and place search. When you register for an event, the host receives the details needed to admit you. We may also disclose data where the law requires it or where it is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.
How Long We Keep It
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, saved events and uploaded images are erased, and your past registrations are anonymised so that hosts keep accurate attendance figures without your identity attached to them. Records of completed transactions are retained for as long as Latvian accounting and tax law requires. Server logs and crash reports are kept for a limited period and then discarded.
Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account yourself at any time. In the mobile app: Account → Data & Privacy → Delete Account. On the website: evently.lv/en/delete-account. Deletion is permanent and removes your data as described above — it is not a temporary deactivation. If you host events that have not yet taken place, cancel or complete them first. You can export a copy of your data before you go, and if you would rather we did it for you, email support@evently.lv.
How to delete your accountData Security
Traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit, access to production data is restricted to the people who need it, and card details never reach our systems. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
You have the right to access your personal data, to correct it, to export it, to have it erased, to object to or restrict how we process it, and to withdraw consent at any time. The app and website let you do the common ones yourself; for anything else, contact support@evently.lv. If you are in the EU you may also lodge a complaint with the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija) or the supervisory authority where you live.
Children
Evently is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to support@evently.lv and we will delete it.
Changes and Contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be announced in the app and on the website, and the date at the top of this page will change. Sargu SIA, Riga, Latvia — questions about this policy or your data: support@evently.lv.
