Edgars Mucenieks' solo exhibition "Obsession" explores three of the artist's life obsessions: mountains, encountering a fateful woman, and nudity. These themes intertwine in personal stories, memories, and artworks, revealing experiences and people that have shaped the artist's creative journey. The exhibition features works inspired by his teachers, the tragic conclusion of the Latvian alpinist expedition in Alaska, and a video piece continuing a 20-year-old narrative of encounters and missed connections. Also on display are recent drawings and paintings of swimmers and other joyful individuals, reflecting sunny moments by and in the water. The artist suggests that without obsession, life's colors are pale.
