The Liepāja visual art biennale "Paralēle" invites artists from Liepāja and its surrounding areas to submit their works. Each artist may submit up to two works created within the last two years, accompanied by a completed application form available online or for download in Word and PDF formats. This biennial event showcases the diversity, quality, and current trends in local art. As Liepāja prepares to become the European Capital of Culture in 2027, the biennale focuses on the visibility of Liepāja's artists, their artistic values, and their role in contemporary cultural processes. A professional jury will evaluate the works, and the Liepāja Culture Department has provided a prize fund of 3000 euros. The Liepāja Museum will also acquire one of the exhibited works to enrich its art collection.
