An ecumenical service will be held to commemorate the Proclamation Day of the Republic of Latvia. Holy Scripture teaches that true peace and security for a nation come from trust in the Lord, and that spiritual battles require the armor of God. Leadership is to be understood as service, not dominion. Latvia's Independence Proclamation Day is celebrated as an expression of gratitude to God, who is the only true refuge. National independence and borders are a gift and an entrusted good, whose strength derives from righteousness and faith in God.
