About The Experience

The Liepāja Theatre presents Ödön von Horváth's play "Tales from the Vienna Woods," directed by Elmārs Seņkovs. The performance tells the story of a fateful encounter between Marianne, an eco-toy seller, and Alfrēds, an investor addicted to sports betting, who, despite societal pressures and personal struggles, abandon their partners for love. Written in 1931, the play remains strikingly relevant today, reflecting contemporary societal trends such as avoiding responsibility, presenting clichés as original, prioritizing public image over truth, and seeking simplistic solutions in an era of insecurity. The cast includes Santa Breikša, Rolands Beķeris, Karīna Tatarinova, Anda Albuže, Everita Pjata-Gertnere, Anete Rimkus, Inese Kučinska, Armands Kaušelis, Signe Dancīte, Valts Skuja, Kaspars Kārkliņš, Sandis Pēcis, Artūrs Irbe, and Kārlis Artejevs.
