The Riga Monument Agency invites the public to a commemorative event honoring the heroes of the Latvian War of Independence. The event will begin with a torchlight procession starting from the Autotanku Regiment Monument, followed by a solemn memorial ceremony at Sudrabkalniņš, by the monument to the soldiers of the 6th Riga Infantry Regiment. The chosen route is symbolic, as the current Slokas Street was a crucial path for soldiers heading to battle sites in 1919. Special remembrance will be given to the soldiers of the 6th Riga Infantry Regiment who fought against Bermontians in the Anniņmuiža area, as well as all heroes of the War of Independence. The event aims to recall the historical significance of the war and strengthen understanding of the cost of freedom. Participants are encouraged to register in advance to ensure they receive torches.
