An exhibition of Nordic and Baltic comics art titled “Mythbusters” will open in the foyer of the New Building at Liepāja Music, Art and Design Secondary School. The exhibition will be on display until November 27. It features 16 comics artists who explore stereotypes about the Nordic and Baltic countries, offering ironic, sharp, absurdly funny, or deeply personal perspectives on life in the region. Participating artists include Akvile Magicdusté, Cecilia Vårhed, Clara Jetsmark, Disa Wallander, Elín Elísabet, Emmi Valve, Ida Neverdahl, Joonas Sildre, Jurijs Tatarkins, Laura Ķeniņš, Liisa Kruusmägi, Mari Ahokoivu, Ona Kvašytė, Søren Glosimodt Mosdal, Tim Ng Tvedt, and Tommi Musturi. The exhibition is curated by David Schilter. Concurrently with the exhibition, the Nordic and Baltic Comics Magazine š! #57 “Mythbústers” will be released, compiling these stories for a global audience.
