Dobele will host a Lāčplēša Day event to honor Latvia's freedom fighters and commemorate their courage and love for their homeland. The event is dedicated to the Latvian army's victory over Bermont's forces in 1919. The program includes a light procession, a musical greeting from Dobele PII “Jāņtārpiņš”, solemn speeches, and the laying of candles at the Dobele Liberation Monument. There will also be a Lāčplēša Day concert featuring the Dobele State Gymnasium's boys' vocal ensemble “KPTT” and girls' vocal ensemble “Rota”. Representatives from the 51st Infantry Battalion of the National Guard will provide warm tea. Residents are encouraged to bring torches or candles for the procession. Throughout November, an environmental installation titled “Mana gaisma Latvijai” (My Light for Latvia), created in collaboration with Dobele Art School, will be available for viewing.
