An embroidery masterclass with artist Irēna Gaša will introduce participants to embroidery techniques on knitted items. Gaša, who studied at the prestigious École Lesage in Paris and has received international recognition, will guide attendees in experimenting with embroidery on knitted bases, creating various ornaments and patterns, and supplementing them with other materials. This workshop draws inspiration from Latvian handicraft traditions, which were also significant in Rainis's family, giving ancient skills a modern form. Participants should bring their own knitted item, such as a sweater or other knitwear with clearly visible stitches, and scissors. Yarn and embroidery patterns will be provided. The number of participants is limited.
