The Jāzeps Mediņš Riga 1st Music School Boys' Choir celebrates its 45th anniversary with a concert tour titled "Mēs varam līdzās būt" (We can be together) in November and December. The choir's artistic director Romāns Vanags, along with singers Ance Krauze and Zigfrīds Muktupāvels, and musicians Jānis Aišpurs and Kārlis Būmeistars, will present a program featuring compositions by Kārlis and Jānis, a new song from Zigfrīds, and new music from composer Uldis Marhilevičs. The concerts will also include songs from the cycle "Karavīru dziesmas" (Soldiers' Songs) and other beloved pieces. Local boys' choirs will join for some songs at each venue. The choir will inaugurate its jubilee season in September with a concert in Bratislava Cathedral, Slovakia.
