Līva Graudiņa's exhibition "Surface of Depth" explores moments experienced in nature, where the specific motif in her paintings gradually recedes, giving way to the interplay of light, color, and material. The landscape transforms into a space for perception, allowing each viewer to find their own meaning. Central to the exhibition is the concept of reflection, which simultaneously preserves and transforms what is seen, much like a water surface makes the familiar mutable and uncertain. The artist achieves this effect using transparent layers of oil paint on a white chalk ground, allowing light to reveal nuances of color and space, creating depth within the material itself. The exhibition is free of charge.
