The Valmiera Municipality, in collaboration with the Valmiera Region Foundation, the State Fire and Rescue Service, and the State Police, is organizing nine meetings for residents across various locations in the municipality. These civil defense trainings aim to provide information and practical advice on how to act in crisis situations, helping residents prepare and understand appropriate responses. Participants will learn about civil defense organization in the region, the roles of the municipality, security services, and NGOs, and receive tips on setting up safe shelters, preparing supplies for 72 hours, and strengthening cooperation within families and with neighbors. Discussions will also cover how to avoid becoming a victim of fraud and how to act in situations of information scarcity or disinformation.
