About The Experience

An open-air exhibition in the square by Dzintari Concert Hall celebrates its 90th anniversary, exploring this significant Latvian cultural venue within its historical, architectural, and musical context. The exhibition covers the concert hall's origins in the late 19th century as the Edinburgh spa house concert garden, its evolution into a symphonic music center in the early 20th century, and the construction of the 1936 Small Hall, the 1960 modernist summer concert hall, and 21st-century architectural additions. Large-format stands feature historical photographs, documentary facts, architectural stories, and quotes from artists, including memories and reflections from prominent Latvian musicians such as Raimonds Pauls, Iveta Apkalna, Marina Rebeka, Elīna Garanča, and Inese Galante.
