The film "Uļa," directed by Viesturs Kairišs, is an emotional story about identity and belonging set in 1960s Latvia. It follows Uļa, an Old Believer teenager whose unusual height attracts the attention of basketball coaches. She is taken to Riga, where she finds herself in an unfamiliar big city and the world of professional sports.
