The Valmiera municipality, in collaboration with the Valmiera Region Fund, the State Fire and Rescue Service, and the State Police, is organizing civil defense training sessions titled "Learn! Prepare! Act!". Across nine meetings in various locations within the Valmiera region, residents will have the opportunity to discuss practical actions for different crisis situations. The aim of these trainings is to provide information and help residents practically prepare for potential crises, as well as understand how to act during them. Topics will include civil defense organization in the region, the role of the municipality, security services, and non-governmental organizations, along with advice on setting up safe shelters, preparing 72-hour household supplies, fostering cooperation within families and with neighbors, and preventing fraud.
