Edgars Mucenieks' solo exhibition "Obsession" explores the artist's three main obsessions: mountains, encounters with a fateful woman, and nudity. Through personal stories, memories, and artworks, the exhibition reveals experiences and individuals who have shaped the artist's creative journey. The theme of mountains is highlighted by the recent Latvian alpinist expedition in Alaska, inspiring paintings that depict the artist's and his friends' passion for mountains. A central video artwork, created with L. Muceniece and V. Graždanovičs, continues a 20-year-old story of encounters and missed connections. The "nude" section features recent drawings and paintings of swimmers and other happy people enjoying sunny moments by and in the water. The artist notes that without "obsession," life's colors are pale.
