Ventspils municipality is organizing an international hybrid session titled "Smart Coastal Development: Balancing Nature Protection, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, and Tourism Entrepreneurship in Coastal Communities" as part of the European Week of Regions and Cities. The event invites entrepreneurs, tourism industry representatives, environmental experts, and community leaders. It will feature insights from Denmark's North Sea region, specifically the Port of Hvide Sande, on regional identity, municipal support for SMEs, and coastal erosion solutions. Experts from the Nature Conservation Agency and researchers will discuss coastal challenges and sustainable tourism infrastructure planning. The session will also include success stories from Latvian coastal entrepreneurs and business support tools from LIAA, the North Kurzeme Business Association, and the Kurzeme Planning Region.
