The traditional Jānis Daliņš memorial run and walk is part of Valmiera municipality's month-long series of sports activities, inviting residents to actively celebrate the 108th anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Latvia. The event will begin with participants gathering at the Jānis Daliņš monument, where candles will be lit and flowers laid to honor the memory of the outstanding Latvian race walker. Afterwards, participants will collectively embark on a run and walk to Jānis Daliņš' family home in Brenguļi, where each participant will receive a commemorative medal and warm tea.
