About The Experience
The traveling exhibition “Sound’s Secret Paths in Northern Waters” by the Danish creative association “Between Music” is an immersive and multimedia installation exploring humanity’s connection to the underwater world. It features underwater sound recordings from Finnish Arctic deep lakes, Greenland, and Faroe Islands fjords, capturing unique echoes and sounds of the underwater environment that are inaudible to the unaided ear. Four Nordic artists creatively interpret these recordings by blending sound, music, and animation. The exhibition’s core is a spatial sound installation with compositions by Laila Skovmand, Jens L. Thomsen, and Petri Kuljuntausta, exploring interspecies communication, the memory of lost sailors, and original underwater soundscapes. Inuk Silis Høegh presents an audiovisual work “Ode to Melting Ice” focusing on the fragility of Arctic ecosystems.
