The kokle ensemble “Cantata,” led by Anda Eglīte, along with vocalist Elīna Krastiņa, guitarist Miks Akots, percussionist Uģis Upenieks, and young talent Mariuss Grencis, invites you to the concert “Cocktail / Latvian Pop Music Program.” The program features golden classics of Latvian popular music and contemporary compositions, specially arranged for the kokle ensemble and accompanying band. This repertoire is unusual for kokle ensembles, breaking stereotypes about the instrument's traditional sound and revealing its energetic, virtuosic, and dynamically modern facet. Raitis Zapackis will weave the concert's dramaturgy into a unified narrative, sharing stories about the compositions, their creation, authors, moods, and signs of the times.
