The Operetta Theatre's new production, "Parisian Bohemia," is Latvia's first eco-fashion operetta, transporting audiences to Montmartre – a world of artists, dreamers, and lovers. Director Sonora Vaice's interpretation of Imre Kálmán's operetta "The Violet of Montmartre" transforms the story into a bold, visually stunning stage event. It merges classical operetta with contemporary musical theatre, dance, and high fashion aesthetics. Costume designer Elīna Milta-Niedrāja's creations incorporate natural forms, while Imre Kálmán's captivating melodies are reinterpreted with an elegant Parisian jazz aesthetic. The performance features lavish costumes, Parisian romance, bohemian freedom, passion, and love, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the allure of Paris through an unusual lens inspired by nature and human instincts.
