The collage-play "Veronika, the Blue Bird" is dedicated to the painter and writer Veronika Janelsiņa (1910-2001), exploring her life in California after the passing of her husband, writer Anšlavs Eglītis. Structured as a collage of memories, interviews, letters, and documentary evidence, the performance reveals Veronika's world, where paintings, manuscripts, and a longing for Latvia remained. The play depicts her ongoing conversations with the past, art, and the people who shaped her life story, with a special focus on the artist Kazimirs Laurs as a friend and guardian angel. It is a narrative about memory, solitude, loyalty, and hope, portraying a woman who, between the Californian sky and the light of Latvia, spent her life searching for her blue bird. The cast includes Laila Maria Saliņa and Ģirts Krūmiņš.
