An informational online lecture on addiction will be held as part of the project "Implementation of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Measures in Bauska Municipality". The lecture will be led by narcologist Maija Jēkabsone. Its aim is to foster understanding of how addictions develop, reduce associated prejudices, and provide practical information on recognizing addiction risks and seeking help. Topics covered will include addiction as a biopsychosocial illness, various types of addictions, criteria for harmful excessive use or addiction, treatment options, and prevention. The lecture will last 90 minutes, with an opportunity for participants to ask questions to the specialist at the end. Participation is free of charge.
