An exhibition of paintings by artist Aivis Pīzelis is on display on the 2nd floor of the Preiļi Municipality Council building. Born in Preiļi in 1988, Aivis Pīzelis graduated from Rēzekne Art and Design Secondary School and the Latgale branch of the Art Academy of Latvia, earning bachelor's and master's degrees in arts. His painting style is an emotionally rich dialogue between landscape, memory, and personal perception of the world, where nature reflects inner experiences. The artist primarily uses acrylics, large brushes, and a palette knife to create dynamic textures and bold color combinations. His works often blend peace and unrest, melancholy and vitality, the recognizable and the abstract, transforming landscapes into psychological spaces.
