Edgars Mucenieks' solo exhibition "Obsession" explores the artist's three main obsessions: mountains, encountering a fateful woman, and nudity. Through personal stories, memories, and artworks, the exhibition reveals experiences and people who have shaped the artist's creative journey. The mountain theme was inspired by a tragic alpinist expedition in Alaska, prompting Mucenieks to revisit his mountain memories. A central video work, created with Liena Muceniece and Viesturs Graždanovičs, continues a 20-year-old story of encounters and non-encounters. The "nude" section features recent drawings and paintings of swimmers, sunbathers, and other happy people by the water. The artist suggests that without obsession, life's colors are usually very pale.
