An informative seminar titled “From Producer to Consumer – Short Food Supply Chains: Support, Cooperation, and Experience” is designed for farmers, growers, and small food producers in the Tukums region. The seminar aims to provide information on public procurement opportunities for local food producers, helping them expand their market and establish long-term cooperation with educational institutions and other public buyers. Sigita Mauriņa from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will discuss support conditions for the LA 20 activity “Promoting the operation of short food supply chains,” while Ieva Spriža will share the experience of the cooperative “Vidzemes Bio āboli un ogas.” The event will conclude with a discussion on promoting local produce sales, cooperation models, and strengthening producer involvement in food supply.
