The Liepāja Visual Arts Biennial “Paralēle” invites artists from Liepāja and its surroundings to submit works created within the last two years. Each artist may submit up to two pieces, accompanied by a completed application form providing information about the artist and the submitted works. The form can be filled out online or downloaded. A professional jury will evaluate the submissions, and the Liepāja Culture Department has allocated a prize fund of 3000 euros. The Liepāja Museum will also acquire one of the exhibited works to enrich its art collection. This biennial event, held every two years, showcases the diversity, quality, and current trends in local art. This year, in preparation for Liepāja becoming the European Capital of Culture in 2027, the biennial will focus on the visibility of Liepāja artists, their artistic values, and their role in contemporary cultural processes.
