The Krustpils Cultural Center will host Imants Kalniņš and Viks' rock story “Ei, jūs tur!” (Hey, You There!), a contemporary production exploring love and freedom. This event commemorates the 85th anniversary of the legendary Latvian composer Imants Kalniņš, presenting one of his most distinctive stage works in a new interpretation by director Rēzija Kalniņa. Created in 1971, this work is the first rock opera in Latvian music history, featuring a libretto by poet Viks (Viktors Kalniņš) based on motifs from William Saroyan's play “Hello Out There!”. It tells a story about human freedom, conscience, choices, and the ability to maintain humanity. The performance features three main characters: HE (Atis Zviedris), SHE (Viktorija Majore), and THE CHOIR (Jasmīnas koris, artistic director Agita Rimšēviča).
