The experimental ethno-music ensemble “Līgas pH3” invites attendees to an autumnal evening, celebrating their 10th anniversary. They will perform songs from their third studio album, “Smilšu māte priecājās,” which is dedicated to ancestral spirits, wakes, and funeral songs. The event aims to honor ancestors to receive their blessings and guardianship. The group explores traditional singing through non-traditional interpretations, seeking mythical and sacred layers in folk songs. They select authentic folk melodies and texts, which are then freely arranged by group members and guest musicians, adding dark, rich, and unusual atmospheres to bring folk music into the realm of experimental music.
