Edgars Mucenieks' solo exhibition "Obsession" is on view at Galerija "Romas dārzs" until December 13. The exhibition explores three of the artist's life obsessions: mountains, encountering a fateful woman, and nudity. These themes intertwine in personal stories, memories, and artworks, revealing experiences and individuals who have shaped the artist's creative journey. The exhibition features works inspired by teachers such as Rolands Gross, Indulis Zariņš, and Aleksejs Naumovs. The mountain theme is highlighted in connection with this year's tragic Latvian alpinist expedition in Alaska, prompting the artist to revisit his mountain memories. A central video piece, created with Līna Muceniece and Viesturs Graždanovičs, continues a 20-year-old story of encounters and missed connections.
