The Riga Monuments Agency, in cooperation with the Art Academy of Latvia and its Institute of Restoration and Material Research, is organizing an international conference titled "Between Material and Decision: Research, Restoration, and Preservation of Cultural Heritage". The conference aims to foster understanding of cultural heritage preservation, from material research and degradation process analysis to selecting preservation strategies and planning restoration work. Discussions will also cover authenticity preservation, restoration ethics, and professional decision-making. This interdisciplinary platform is intended for conservators, restorers, art and architecture historians, material scientists, museum specialists, and other cultural heritage professionals. The working languages are Latvian and English.
