The Valmiera Municipality, in collaboration with the Valmiera Region Fund, the State Fire and Rescue Service, and State Police specialists, is organizing nine meetings with residents across various locations in the region this autumn. The aim of these civil defense trainings is to provide information and practical advice on how to act in various crisis situations, helping residents prepare and understand appropriate responses. During the meetings, attendees will learn about the organization of civil defense in the region, the role of the municipality, security services, and non-governmental organizations, and receive tips on setting up safe shelters, preparing supplies for 72 hours, and strengthening cooperation within families and with neighbors. Participants will also learn how to avoid becoming victims of fraud and how to act in situations of information scarcity and disinformation.
