An event titled "Reading Material – Raw Material" will take place as part of the Orbīta residency "Prakse," featuring members of the Valmiera book club in conversation with artists Līga Laurenoviča and Artūrs Puntis. The discussion will focus on the end of a book's life cycle – its disposal for utilization, examining this process from the perspectives of a reader, librarian, and artist. Attendees will explore art practices where books become raw material and consider what to preserve in a book destined for destruction. This event is part of the "KURTUVE: contemporary culture for everyone" project program and involves collaboration with regional book clubs in Valmiera, Rūjiena, Kocēni, Strenči, and Mazsalaca.
