A concert celebrating Latvia's 108th birthday will feature Zigmars Liepiņš's monumental "Mesa 2020" and Jāzeps Mediņš's Second Symphony “Ziedonī”. "Mesa 2020" was composed in 2020 with the core message "give us peace," which remains highly relevant in the current global climate, and it is performed in Latvian. The Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, the State Academic Choir “Latvija”, and the men's vocal ensemble “Auxilium” will perform under the baton of conductor Jānis Liepiņš. This event aims to provide light and hope during the darkest time of the year.
