The documentary film “The Red Barn” serves as a metaphor for the life of Raimonds Staprāns, a Latvian exile artist known as a realism expressionist. The barn transforms into a historical laboratory for events in Latvian and European history, as well as a reference point for the artist's vibrant and untamed life journey. The film interweaves scenes from San Francisco and Latvia, past and present, featuring both fictionalized and documentary elements.
