On Lāčplēsis Day, Bauska will honor Latvia's freedom fighters with a traditional torchlight procession and a solemn memorial service. Residents are invited to join the torchlight procession, starting from the town center and proceeding to the memorial site, bringing their own torches. The memorial service at the freedom monument will feature actor Gints Andžāns, along with musicians Jānis Strazdiņš (singer), Austris Kalniņš (pianist, conductor, composer), and Ernests Mediņš (percussionist).
