A book presentation will be held for journalist and local historian Natālija Ketnere's new documentary book "Who was Visvaldis Peņģerots?". The event invites attendees to learn about a lesser-known figure in Latvian cultural history, art critic, cultural historian, publicist, and political prisoner Visvaldis Peņģerots (1897–1938), whose life story is also connected to Koknese. Based on archival documents, letters, and memoirs, the book reveals Peņģerots' diverse personality and lesser-known aspects of the lives of Rūdolfs Blaumanis, Emīls and Marija Dārziņš, Jānis Greste, Anšlavs Eglītis, and other Latvian cultural figures. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore Peņģerots' ex libris, or bookplate, collection. Admission to the event is free of charge.
