The exhibition “First World War II devastations in Liepāja. June 22–29, 1941,” featuring items from the Liepāja Museum collection, collector Ivars Ķupis' private collection, and the Naval Forces Training Center, recounts the intense warfare in Liepāja from June 22 to 29, 1941. During this period, the city experienced bombing, artillery shelling, and street battles between two totalitarian powers, resulting in the destruction or severe damage of many buildings and altering the city's historical landscape.
